Lake Wedowee

Lake Wedowee is located in east-northeast Alabama near the town of Wedowee. The lake covers 10,600 acres and is 24 miles long. It has about 271 miles of shoreline.

Wedowee’s major rivers are the Tallapoosa and Little Tallapoosa. These rivers merge just north of the Highway 48 bridge.

The lake offers excellent fishing for bream, black bass, catfish and crappie.

During summer, crappie fishing is popular at night under lighted docks. The crappie are there to feed on the baitfish attracted to the lights.
