Fishing in Warrior Reservoir

Warrior Lake covers 8,580 acres on the Black Warrior River. It stretches from the Selden Dam near the City of Eutaw, upstream to Oliver Dam at Tuscaloosa. Eight public access areas provide bank and boat access to this lake.

Warrior Reservoir is known for its largemouth bass and crappie fishing. Abundant weed beds provide good habitat for bass, crappie, and bream.

Biologists report that growth rates in Warrior Lake are slower than in Alabama’s other reservoirs.

Hybrid striped bass provides good fishing for 3 to 8 pound fish and are mostly caught in the tailwaters below Oliver Dam.

The tailrace also offers good fishing for catfish, drum and crappie. The area is very popular with anglers as there is a fishing pier and two access areas on the upper section of Warrior Lake.
