Claiborne Lake is the third lake on the Alabama River. It is a river-run lake covering 5,930 acres of water and is 60.5 miles in length from dam to dam.

It is located is southwest area of the state within Clarke, Monroe and Wilcox counties.

Downstream of Claiborne Dam, the Alabama River is free-flowing and joins the Tombigbee River to form the Mobile River.

Anglers will find good fishing for largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish. Depending on the seanson, the tailwaters of the Millers Ferry Dam also provide excellent fishing for striped bass, spotted bass, crappie, and large catfish.

There are ten public boat access areas throughout the reservoir.
