Lake Eufaula covers 45,181 acres and is located on the Chattahoochee River along the border of southwest Georgia and southeast Alabama. The reservoir is formed by Walter F. George Lock and Dam. The lake is 87 nautical miles long and has 640 miles of shoreline.

The upper 24 miles of the lake is riverine.

The undeveloped northern section of Lake Eufaula falls within the 11,160 acre Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge.

The refuge is bordered on the south by Lakepoint State Park, which covers 1,220 acres. The park is located off Highway 431 seven miles north of Eufaula, and can be contacted by calling (334) 687-8011.

Boat access to Lake Eufaula is easily obtainable throughout the lake from Georgia or Alabama.

Lake Eufaula has excellent fishing for bream, catfish, crappie and black bass.
