Lake Guntersville
Located in north Alabama between Bridgeport and Guntersville, Lake Guntersville is our largest lake. It covers 69,100 acres and stretches more than 82 miles from Hales Bar Dam to Guntersville Dam.
Known for its large bass, Lake Guntersville also offers excellent fishing for bream, catfish, crappie and striped bass. It is considered a destination for catching trophy blue catfish. Fishing for sauger is popular in spring.
Many large creeks feed the lower end of Big G, with abundant fish habitat that includes, shell beds, milfoil and hydilla weeds.
Boating access is plentiful around the lake.
