Millers Ferry

As the middle lake on the Alabama River, Millers Ferry stretches 103 miles from dam to dam and covers 17,200 acres. From Gee’s Bend to Canton Bend the lake flows north for 9 miles.

Unlike Claiborne Lake to it’s south, the lower end of Millers Ferry has an abundance of backwater in its creeks and sloughs.

Millers Ferry provides excellent fishing opportunities for both largemouth and spotted bass. Due to its high fertility and a relatively stable threadfin shad population the lake is known for consistently producing bass of three pounds or larger.

Millers Ferry also offers excellent fishing for crappie and blue and channel catfish.

Numerous public access areas service the reservoir. Camping facilities are available at Corps of Engineers public use areas at East Bank, Six Mile, and Chilatchee Creek. Roland Cooper State Park offers camping, cabins, and a golf course. Lodging, restaurants and tackle are available nearby in Camden.
