Located between Montgomery and Selma in central Alabama, Jones Bluff Reservoir covers 12,510 acres on the Alabama River. It is 80.5 nautical miles long with 373 miles of shoreline.

Jones Bluff is a riverine and most of the lake is confined to the original river channel. However, there are numerous flooded creeks with good fishing.

Fishing is good to excellent for black bass, bream, catfish, crappie, hybrid striped bass and white bass.

Fishing for many of these species, fishing improves greatly from the current created by hydropower generation.
